How do I store my perfume correctly?

  1. Avoid Light : Direct sunlight can alter the olfactory composition of your perfume, which can affect its smell. To avoid this, store your perfumes in a dark, cool place, away from windows and direct light sources. A closed cabinet or drawer is ideal for protecting your perfumes from harmful UV rays.
  2. Keep them away from heat and humidity : Avoid temperature variations: Extreme temperature changes can also affect the quality of the perfume, including the stability of essential oils and aromas. Avoid storing it in the bathroom , where variations in temperature and humidity are common. A perfume is optimally stored between 10° and 12°C . It can be difficult to keep your bottle at these temperatures, so it is recommended to store your perfumes in your fridge. In fact, numerous studies have shown that a few degrees cooler is much more preferable than the opposite.
  3. Keep them in their Original Box : After the first use of a perfume, we tend to leave the bottle out of its box. Error ! The boxes your perfumes come in are not just packaging, as you might think. They are designed to protect the perfume from light and temperature variations. So keep your perfumes in their original box whenever you are not using them. This will protect them optimally.
  4. Keep the Bottle Upright : Store the perfume bottle upright to prevent the liquid from corroding, which can alter the fragrance. Avoid shaking the bottle, this can also alter the composition by forming air bubbles in the liquid.
  5. Use the perfume regularly : After the first use, a perfume has a limited lifespan. Although this duration is several years, a perfume can oxidize over time. To avoid this, it is therefore advisable to use your perfume regularly.

Good to Know : A perfume that has not been opened will retain all of these qualities, even if its essence is composed of materials destined to expire quickly, such as natural essential oils. Some can even improve with time, like good wine :) So, if you don't plan to use your perfume regularly in the coming months, don't rush to open it.

It is noted on your perfumes that the shelf life after opening your perfume is 24 to 36 months (according to the manufacturer's recommendations). This data is not always a measurement linked to your perfume but a legal expiry period. You can, if you carefully apply our advice, keep your precious bottles much longer, without them even being altered. However, keep in mind that there is no absolute truth in terms of deadlines, certain materials are more durable and will therefore resist better
